Day 1

Being so close to the border we're not short of a castle or two! First we explore the picturesque 12th century Whittington Castle and Norman Gatehouse  before heading to Oswestry Hillfort, to walk the ramparts of this Iron Age settlement - one of the best preserved in the UK.

Next up we'll do a short 35 minute drive, stopping for lunch enroute, to Powis Castle which sits high on a hill above it's world famous garden. Here you'll discover a fascinating collection of sculptures, paintings and tapestries as well as one of Britain's most significant collections of south Asian artifacts.

No day out in the area would be complete without an evening meal at The Cross Keys country pub with it's modern British dishes and craft beers.

Then it's time to relax back at the cabins for perhaps a spot of stargazing from your own private hot tub.

Day 2

We take a 15 minute drive into the pretty market town of Shrewsbury where you can explore Shrewsbury Castle and enjoy a relaxing trip along the River Severn aboard the Sabrina Boat. Or you might be equally happy mooching around the boutique shops and independent cafes.

After lunch we visit Wroxeter Roman City and enjoy a Vineyard Tour with optional afternoon tea or evening meal, or Hencote Vineyard for a tour and tasting- then we'll drive you back to your cosy cabin to put your feet up indoors or out.  Sound good?

Prices from £495 based on 2 people sharing a boutique cabin for 3 nights in October. Price includes transport to visits for 2 days but excludes meals and entry fees.

Day 1

First up is a gentle introduction to sit-on-canoes and paddleboarding here on the River Perry which meanders through the grounds.

And when you're ready for more, we'll head over to the picturesque Alderford Lake for the afternoon - a great opportunity to potter around the 14 acre lake on an SUP.

Our guess is you'll be then be ready to relax and refuel with an evening meal at the nearby The New Inn country pub with it's homely menu and local ales before we make the short drive back to your cosy cabin.

Day 2

After a leisurely morning in your private hot tub, hammock or terrace, it’s time to explore the award-winning market town of Shrewsbury with it's independent shops, cafes and bistros, and a trip along the River Severn from the comfort of the Sabrina Boat.

Later there’s an optional visit to The Shropshire Distillery for an enlightening tour and a chance to create your very own personal blend  of gin!

Day 3

A fantastic day out on the River Trywyern at the National White Water Rafting Centre just over an hour away. Experience the natural rapids in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park with a rafting taster session!

And after an action-packed day, it’s time to relax and enjoy an evening meal at The Corn Mill Llangollen before heading back to the comfort of your cabin for spot of stargazing or well earned rest!

Prices from £680 based on 2 people sharing a boutique cabin with hot tub for 4 nights in October. Prices include transport to visits but exclude meals and entry fees.
